Plastic Packaging, part 1 (of a zillion)

So I hate single use plastic. It may be a wonder material, but plastic waste is smothering the planet. I’ve been complaining about this for years, usually in the shops where I buy things.

So I’ll keep complaining, but I’ve decided to try to use social media to contact the producers of the material I buy and encourage (or shame them) to find alternatives to cheap plastic packaging.

Below is a short video addressed to McCambridge’s Bread. I started saving the plastic trays they use to hold their bread to see how many I could collect. The outside plastic bag is resealable so they aren’t ‘single-use’. I get to reuse them over and over.

I don’t have answers for all the plastic used for food packaging. Clearly, plastic is great for food hygiene. But McCambridge’s could certainly use light cardboard trays inside their resealable bags.
